spring | when he found her

Sigh. This shoot. One of my favs. So happy to see it up on Style Me Pretty today.

When selecting a location to shoot, we immediately thought of Ruthven Park, with its neoclassical architecture and stunning property. We loved the romantic feel of this grand country estate situated on the edge of Grand River, nestled in between acres of lush meadows and active farm fields.

Our shoot was inspired by our northern spring, and the cool, fresh days we experience here in Ontario, when the snow finally starts to melt away and gives way to early spring buds.  We chose our colour palette to capture the cool crispness of the season, using soft muted greens, clean whites and the faintest icy teal blue.

In keeping with the old estate setting, we created garden-inspired arrangements and a bouquet made up of full white garden roses, peonies, sweet peas, anemones, spirea and geranium.

Our rustic, but elegant tablescape was achieved by layering natural wood elements, terra cotta and faint teal dinnerware with a personalized hand-drawn monogram. To bring our vision to life, we set the scene on a beautiful sunny day and Reid managed to capture it all in just the perfect spring light.
